SR22 Car Insurance Arizona

Reader’s Question:

Is it better to obtain the SR22 car insurance from a different insurer or from the same insurance carrier we currently have? I live in Phoenix, Arizona.

If your current insurance carrier in Arizona will file the SR-22 financial responsibility certificate for you, after making sure you have at least the types of insurance and limits that your state is requiring of you, then normally it would not be hard for you to keep the same insurance carrier as you currently have.

If instead your current Arizona insurance carrier is not able to file the SR-22 financial responsibility certificate for you then you will have to find a different car insurance carrier that does deal with high risk motorists and will submit in the SR22 certificate to the proper state agency on your behalf.

Your current Arizona insurance policy will not be able to be kept if your present insurance provider does not file SR-22 forms for policy holders. If they do not deal with SR22s then you will need to acquire auto insurance with an insurer that does SR22 filing and then cancel your present insurance once your new car insurance has been set up.
