You did not mention why you no longer have auto insurance. Was it canceled? What was the reason? Non payment? Did you not renew it? Anyway, to answer your question: There is life after canceled auto insurance. Have faith. I can think of a few reasons why an insurance policy can get canceled or refused renewal: license expiration or suspension or revocation, failure to pay premium on time, or failure to fully disclose facts about your driving and claims history to the insurance company. When an insurance policy gets canceled, you usually get a few days, usually between 10 to 30 days, before the insurance gets completely canceled. So hopefully, you won’t have to drive without insurance. The insurance company would usually give you the reason for the cancellation, so try to avoid it/those next time.
As I said, there is life after cancellation. You can still apply for insurance. If the reason for the cancellation is late or non payment of premium, you may still try to have the policy reinstated. That’s usually easier or cheaper than getting one from a different auto insurance company. Of course, getting insurance policy from another company is an option. Generally, your policy premium will be higher, if not painful, from now on. You’ll find the insurance company that’s right for you.
